More news:
Looks like Zap's building some hype and someone else is being realistic.
I like this quote.
Developing a car is "frighteningly complex and incredibly consumptive of time," said Eric Noble, founder of The Car Lab consulting firm. "All the best intentions, best business plans and best management can't excise Murphy's Law from the process, and Murphy always turns up somewhere." ....

I thought it had similar lines to Mazda's CX series a while back, but now "crossover" vehicles are everywhere....

I still want to know what happened to the in-house developed, operational Lotus supercharged V6 that was originally put in the APX concept!!! The APX is powered by a supercharged, front-mounted, 3-liter DOHC V6 designed by Lotus (!) and making 300 hp at 6250 rpm, good for 0-60 mph in 5.0 seconds (quicker than the Lotus Europa S)
(dammit! It oughta show up in a Proton if nothing else...)

Would you pay $100,000+ for one Brian?
That is what the smaller Tesla Roadster is selling for.
Hmmm 2 Elises or one Elise and enough gas for a more than a few years or an Electric Tesla..........

Ouch...
Just read the article on ZAP in this month's Wired magazine which is required reading for anyone who might hold out hope to ever see such a vehicle as the ZAP-X or anything else other than vaporvehicles. Wonder how Lotus is feeling about it's relationship with the company these days.
Time for another ZAP press release to counter the Big Oil Conspiracy!

I never realised how expensive it was to not export something, the Tesla costs $100,000 in the states and will cost $160,000 when on sale in the UK,i think the elise has just got a longer production run.Clockwork

Ultimately the Electric car manufacturers havent got a snowballs chance in hell against the big oil lot.
I think they will remain interesting but expensive toys for the holier than thou eco obssesed bunch, and as soon as the oil lot see them as a real threat, boom they will be taxed to the moon by oil corrupted governments.

I'm sure all the Leonardo Di Crapy-o's will trade in their priuses (is that plural?) for the Tesla as this will be 100 emission free, oh and it looks a 100 percent better too.
