 Martin.... I'm bummed :crying:

Oh and I love your garage! I think I have to copy your idea.. project added to a huge long list

Thanks Greg!

Let me tell you, doing a yellow stripe on BRG is a PITA. If you do yellow with a BRG stripe you could paint the whole wall yellow and then do the stripe, but as it were...I had to tape and paint three different sections. Worth it in the end though I guess. :)

Yeah, but yellow with a BRG stripe wouldn't look the same.... Has to be how you did it. Nothing is ever easy! at least for me it isn't....

Do you think it will hit your reserve?

I would love to own it, just need to arrange some things before I commit $25k to a new toy

Maybe you still might have it in a few weeks?

Dont like the look of those Zero feedback bids Martin.:(

"Hello Im new to ebay and the first transaction I am going to make is to buy a $21,000 car".

Sincerely,

Wayne B , aged 14

Seriously one thing that I ment to mention is that your car does not show under "Lotus Esprit" in either All Categories or Automotive on ebay.

I would think by not listing it there you will be ruling out a lot of potential customers, Martin.

Cancel those bids IMMEDIATELY!!!!! 0 feedbacks are probably scammers. Have you emailed any of the bidders? Where are they located? Anything outside of USA is a scam in my experiences with ebay...

I hope it sells today, but if it doesn't I will be sure to let you know. Thanks.

I have searched for it by choosing Lotus and then the Esprit in the cars section and it's there. Being that over 1,950 people have seen the listing I don't think I'm missing the people that are genuinely looking for an Esprit for sale.

One of them, the atlantaautomobilia is as far as I'm concerned going to be booted shortly. The other one has called me and I have spoke with him in detail and I will allow his bid. I do appreciate the concern though. You guys are certainly right to be leary. There are way too many scammers on Ebay.

It sold for 18,600. Good deal for the guy who bought it. We have already talked a few times and he seems very excited. We are already working out the details, and he should have the car by the end of next week. I'll see if I can get him to join the forum as I think everyone would benefit from it.

Seems like he got a great deal Martin :)

I would have thought it was going to go higher, but I guess the economy showed what the present going rate is.

Well...... That was a deal for sure!!! not so much for you though... hope the new owner cares for her like you did. Your still going to be around on the Forum, right?

She just rolled away. :crying:

But fortunately seems as thought it has gone to someone who will certainly enjoy it. A younger guy, much like myself came today with his brother to take the SE back to where he lives in Houston. I asked him to join the Buzz so hopefully he does and we can continue to follow the car's life with it's new owner :)

Oh gosh Martin :( I know excactly how your feeling, if you had asked me this time last year when black beauty left the stable it was more than just a losing a nice accessory. Part of me felt ripped out and lost after watching it it get driven off. It really hurts is the only way I could describe it.
I hope you can now focus on getting things sorted and finding a way into a nice 7 :steeringwheel:

Seen a few of my cars drive off into the sunset, but you soon find another one to become obsessed with.:)

Martin

It wasn't too bad really. I've only been fortunate to own for a year and a half and honestly it was harder for me to part with my old 87 Biturbo that was the 1st car I ever bought.

It did hit me a bit harder yesterday though when I went out in the garage and saw the VW Passat where the Esprit usually is. Thats when I realized she was gone and she wasn't coming back. :crying:

But, time will tell. Maybe I will get another Esprit, but it will probably be a Giugiaro design

WayneB
09-18-2008, 04:08 PM
The old Giugiaros arent all that bad, I have alot of fun in mine.:steeringwheel:

Of course it isnt the fastest car in town in a straight line (we have a Black Mclaren Mercedes SLR around here now), but it is the best looking IMO.:)

The old girl can still put the asses in the seats!

Thanks Kylie dear.:flowers:

Something that people forget is that the Turbo Esprit was one of the fastest cars legally for sale in the USA in 1983.

No Vette in 1983 and the Countach and 512 BB were grey market imports.

The Porkshure 930 was faster though.:crying:
