Tires

Hey all,

I am in need of some more all/around tires. I am deathly afraid to drive in the wet with the Yokohamas. My 05' Elise is currently rolling on;

Yokohama ADVAN A048 135/50/R16 84w lts (Front)
Yokohama ADVAN A048 225/45/R17 90w lts (Rear)

I've heard good things about the Toyo's but their website does not show Lotus as an option.

Any suggestions for a more all season tire (especially in the wet) that is still high performance and looks as good as the Yokohamas? Would I stick with the same sizes? Is it best to order them from the manufacturer directly or should I try a tire store and order from there?

Are those Sizes OEM? I thought OEM sizes for 05 elise were more like 195/50/16 for fronts? If 195 is correct then you can choose most brands. If a tire website dosnt have your model it is not to say theres nothing suitable. Its usually a case of the company not updating their site to accomodate such cool cars :icon18:

Find out your rim width and go from there. I bet you will find heaps of options out there.

Toyo do a 195/50/16 to fit a 5.5 - 7.0 inch rim and a 225/45/17 7.0-8.5 rim in their T1R range which is their top of the line road tyre suitable for wet driving.
Also consider top of the line Bridgestones too.

Thanks. I'll have to check on the wheels. They are from an 08' exige (Black).
