What great weather we had this past weekend.
There were Lotus cars on the track, on the street, in shops and on the in-field. I showed up Friday before noon at the track and met up with with some local guys from Atlanta and a great group of guys from Florida. We went over to HyperSport after watching Doc Bundy qualify in the 91' X180R. HyperSport was accomodating as usual and showed us all the fun and exciting projects coming up. One of which included an Exige that will be racing with the big boys next year in GT racing. After that we headed over to Elan Motorsports (Panoz racing division) and saw what amazing state-of-the-art facility they have. They manufacture race cars for a wide variety of racing series and I have to say I was impressed with their work with carbon fiber.
On Saturday, we stayed at the track. We watched Doc Bundy pull off the win in his class during the Saturday afternoon race at the SVRA season finale Road Atlanta .
I also got to take out my Esprit on the track for some "sprited laps" which I will describe in another thread. ;)
