In 1995 Dan Gurney decided to go champ car racing. they needed to start from scracth so he bought a 1994 Lola.
can anyone name the engine that they used as the test motor for the early Eagle champ car testing in 95 ?
you will be suprised...

I could not be sure without looking it up, but if memory servs... and it might not that is for sure, it seems AAR did some pretty extensive testing with Toyota motors...(?)

yes they did use Toyota great guess, but when AAR bought that 94 Lola they did a deal with John Judd to supply the engines so AAR could develope their own car and their own engine. both appeard in 96.
and I think Judd engines are based off the ideas from Honda motors that go waaay back.
I love this SHT

Peugeot is correct! entered in 1912 as stated, and while the car looked like most cars of the day - narrow tires, two place, sitting high, etc...- it was a bit ahead of its time for sure.

Peugeot won the Indy 500 with that engine in 1913.
Miller , Offenhauser and Hal were so impressed with the design, they all copied it.
