I was asked to show my '73 Lotus Europa TC Special this past Sat. at a show held on Jackson St. in Harlingen,Tx where 125 cars were registered. It was the biggest turn out since they started doing this. Antiques to Hot rods and I had many lookers asking about this car. It is the only Lotus Special here in this part of the Rio Grande Valley and many said they have never seen a car such as this. I got a few offers to sell but I'm not ready to and probably will not. There is another show this weekend coming in Port Mansfield and was asked to bring it there and will do so. The little car has been performing great and have had no problems with it. If anybody that has one nearby and is interested in this coming weekend, email me back and I can get the particulars on the event, Bobby:steeringwheel::wave:

Bobby, glad to hear you are enjoying it and even more so, sharing the enjoyment! I bet there is someone out there that is now smitten with the Lotus bug

I would bet that is the one and only Europa some people will ever see.

...now how about some pictures!

Sorry I have not returned your messages sooner, but have been busy here. I showed the car again in Brownsville,Tx. yesterday and had the same response that they have never seen a car like this before. It was for a childrens hosptial benefit "The Driscoll Childrens Hospital". Again a lot of lookers and questions, I must of lifted the hoods a few hundred times,( it was windy) and let a lot of kids get their pictures taken in it. It was rewarding! I have a new PC and been having trouble uploading pics so I'll see if I:steeringwheel::wave: can do so.

Yes Martin,One of the members of the South Texas British Motor Club's wives asked me if I ever come across one like mine to let her know. She loved the car as did several other members. They have mostly MG's and Triumphs in the club with a Jag. They are a nice bunch and have been inviting me to the shows. I'll probably join up this summer when I get back from Kansas at the end of July. I'm going to miss driving the car for 10 weeks as I will be taking my Saturn.:steeringwheel::wave:

Thanks for the reply Bobby, great looking car as always. So it will sit for 10 weeks. You will probably need me to take the car out while you are gone...it is good for it to run a bit you know :)

These pics of the engine were taken today,if you notice the front carb has a cable on the top, that is my idea of running the choke cable as their was no idle screw housing so I made one from liquid steel and a screw from a spare carb that came with the car to be able to adjust the carb idle. I used a compression spring before that bracket on the top of the carb to draw the choke back after using the pedal it closes on it's own. The cable is attached to the throttle linkage. It works just fine.:steeringwheel::wave:
