Pictures of Stoneleigh Lotus Event Nov 2008

Hi All

Once again we had a superb LEF/LEC meet. With well over 50 cars for the original hoon and around 100 at the event.

As always, Stoneleigh isn't about the parts fair (though the cheap bits help) it's about the Lotus community and meeting up with old friends. So, to help that along LEF made a weekend of it.

The Anglian Esprit Boys left Stanstead at 12 with Myself, James (tentenths) and Martyn (V) in convoy with Iain (rip) from LEC in his Elan M100 and hooned from Stanstead down the M11 along the M25 and up the M1....well some of us did as rip in his M100 decided to explode in a cloud of steam 1/2 way there, as his radiator totally failed. Undaunted the 3 Esprits drove up to the midlands at......a rate of knots (we never broke the speed limit obviously).

I have borrowed some pictures from MatK for this part as I forgot my camera.

An audi V8 in a Lotus Esprit S3!

Ok, I'm not sure if I should be impressed or appauled. I guess I'm a little of both. Either way I want a ride in that thing! :D

That Audi V8 engined S3 Esprit is owned by Hilly who happens to be a very tallented machinist (he fabricated a huge amount of parts for the conversion by himself), and has a thread running on the car over at where I used to work.:)

This is the adapter he made to allow the Audi 6 speed to mate up with the Esprits gear linkage.

That Audi engine still doesn't have the cool factor of a Tony Rudd Lotus 910 Turbo though!:p:D

Punky on LEF has an S car with a V6 in it. the cars had some mods as well....very nice!

Wayne, if there's a problem with your accessing LEF you should have told me and I could sort it out for you. You've not been banned from there, you never have been, LEF is still available to you should you chose to visit your old friends.

A 404 error is page not found, try clearing your cache?

Keep pinging LEF, Wayne, I think it's a config or server issue. I got 404 Not Founds on a couple of forums incl LEF for a while on my work computer after the IT twit "updated" (Windows = :wallbash: ). I think if you'd really been banned you'd be able to hit the site and get a "welcome to LEF, now f*** off!" banner, maybe with a : popo : smilie, too. :D

Beside, in your absence, the pic quality has gone classic/obscure Team Lotus to staggering pub pics... :beer: :p
