I had not planned to go but thought a run would do my rebuilt head good,as usual I just went where I was told and ended up parked up with some interesting oddments, will post pics later, but the one that fooled me was a Cobra, with hardtop I gave it a quick look to see what lump was in it and to try and guess whose kit it was, failed dismaly,it was a real one, built in `59 by A.C. Cars, the hardtop was made at the same time for an extra £4000,scary money ,but saw 3 esprit`s,2 europas,2 elans.anyone else go,Clockwork :)

If it was a 1959 it would have been an AC Ace not a Cobra (which wasnt produced until 1962) they came with either an AC 2 litre six or an Bristol six at that time.:)

You`re not wrong,I was probably reading the menu,here`s the pics and despite the cobs reg it was a 5ltr and first reg in 1998,it is an AC,though :) http://i514.photobucket.com/albums/t347/clockwork012/DSC00127.jpg http://i514.photobucket.com/albums/t347/clockwork012/DSC00128.jpg http://i514.photobucket.com/albums/t347/clockwork012/DSC00132.jpg http://i514.photobucket.com/albums/t347/clockwork012/DSC00133.jpg http://i514.photobucket.com/albums/t347/clockwork012/DSC00134.jpg http://i514.photobucket.com/albums/t347/clockwork012/DSC00135.jpg http://i514.photobucket.com/albums/t347/clockwork012/DSC00138.jpg http://i514.photobucket.com/albums/t347/clockwork012/DSC00136.jpg Clockwork :)

Looking at the Ace/Cobra, it seems to me that the guy has either competely customised an Ace or has built himself up something from scratch possibly using some original AC parts perhaps?
Hairy looking thing it is though!

wow.... it just doesnt look familiar.. . I wonder if it was sold in the states much.
and GM is keeping Buick but is killing off Pontiac.. and they wonder why they are going broke...
Buick should be killed and Pontiac should go on as the sporty car for GM.
they make the dumbest decisions,..

O.K showing my ignorance the large green meanie is as Wayne said a Buick with a "Wildcat" engine, and a large capacity at that, the A.C. is on the database as an A.C. with a vin. number and an engine number that would relate to a modern car ,first registered in 1998, but like you I just felt odd, and yes Wayne that`s my Orange,I will take a pic. of it this week at Donington, unless I find a scenic spot full of sheep first.Clockwork  Database says engine size is 6600
