Hi group!

I am back from LOG 29 and although I will keep it short and to the point for now, I took many pictures and saw so many great cars.

I will keep them coming as time allows.

My good camera went kaput but my video camera can take pictures so don't mind the quality :)

As you can see from the 1st picture, I got to sit in the Evora! Arnie was very generous with his time and opened the door for me and let me sit in it and check out the car all around.

I will post more soon.

...like these :D

Hey Martin! Really good to meet you face to face! It was a blast for sure... Here are a few of the photos I took. Lefty appears in some of these. some of you know the saga of Lefty... but if you don't... he is the Worlds most traveled Esprit. He is Johnny Lightning pocket car and I think he has been around the world at least twice at this point...

Well, next year it is in PA and I think it will be pretty good. It is going to be a back to basics event from what I gathered (something I think LOG needs personally). At any rate Wayne, it is a bit closer for you so with luck you can make it to PA! You really must see what it is like to be around other Lotus folks!

wow.. those are fantastic pictures.. the weather was picture perfect.. the setting was perfect and the hotel was perfect. the X180 R made a nice back drop in the banquet room for the dinner and guest speaker deal.

we did an autograph session just prior to the dinner which was also pretty cool. Pilgrim was really suprised that soo many Lotus people came out. he has done many of these types of events for Corvette owners and Caddy CTSV owners but for the size of Lotus he was really impressed with what we did for such a small car company.

600 people were in the banquet room for dinner..

Doc was loving it too.

Martin.. what did you think of sitting in the Evora ? I sat in it too and it was really nice... you didnt step into it like the Exige nstead you sit in it like a street car. it was really nice.

I thought the seats were very nice. I, for reasons unknown to even me, did not expect them feel quite so good! I think this car is going to really do well for Lotus! so many people, including Mr. George commented on how much better the car looked in person in a color otherthen silver.

Doc Bundy was soo excited to be there.. there has never been a LOG featuring the X180 R .. he was in his element for sure... it was really hard to get him away from a crowd to do tech sessions or autograph sessions... that was cool too because the 3 drivers were in such heaven talking about those old days.

Jim Cummings was really enjoying the time with the guys.

by the end of the weekend Andy Pilgrim was offering his driving services to race his old girl at the fall vintage finale at Road Atlanta.

it was an epic weekend all the way around.

Again, sorry for the quality, but I certainly tried to make up for it in quantity. If you see a car in the back ground you want to see closer, I may have a closer shot.

....I'll try and post more later. Unfortunately I am short on time lately.

Also, Cameron it was great meeting you too. I wish we could have had more time together but I had to give into 4 other people's interests as well. Thanks to everyone for making it a great weekend!

Nice photos Martin, and so that was you. I saw you around but did not know the face to place with the name. I was the tall goofy character in the non-event orange shirt, hanging around the 2-11. I completely forgot that the orange shirts were the event personnel and as such spent most of the day helping people with parking and other info needs. No problem, I got to meet some new people and found my friend's recently sold 51 in the process.

LOG 29 was a great time for us with some special moments that will be special memories for a long time to come. This year we were lucky to be more involved with Lotus and as such had more opportunities to meet one on one with the celebrities. Also, seeing Clive out there and so much more relaxed and enjoying himself more than the first time he visited was nice to see.

Another gem at LOG was the MC and guest driver Bert S. Levy. What a character!
Had the pleasure of chatting with him for an hour or so at the concourse and then again at the track. He's one of those characters that can sit and tell stories that will have you laughing for hours. If you ever have the chance, do pick up his books and take a read. If you have any interest in vintage race times or grew up in the 50's and 60's you will find somerthing to chuckle about.

The Evora was indeed a lot better looking in person than photos present. The interior and overall finish was very nice and definitely a cut above the current product line. Getting in and out was so easy and the interior arrangement was excellent. I am 6"-2" and had at least 2" of clear head space.
My first impression was that indeed the car is larger than anything else from Lotus I have ever been in. But when it was sitting there amongst all the other cars it's apparent largeness seemed to come down a bit.
The layout is familiar yet very different which gave me one of those, I'll have to get used to it, feelings.
I'm definitely intersested, but will hold out for the SC version fitted withoiut the back seats and the sport set up installed. Color? have to see it in Orange than I'll decide.

Someone asked me which LOG did I like best. Have to admit that of the 5 that I have been to, each had something special and all were great times in their own unique way. so to pick one above the rest is impossible.
I've owned quite a few sports cars in my time but none have ever afforded me as many a good time as has the Lotus and in so many ways. As problematic as it can be, I don't think I will ever switch to another marque, or at least, I will be sure that there is always at least one Lotus in the garage.

Looking forward to LOG 30 and as soon as I can I'll add some of the photos we took.

Al, I met your wife at the 211 and talked with her for a long time. Doc came out and was drooling over the 211. I suggested that he autograph the car and while he did your wife was calling you to come down and talk with Doc.

it was a cool moment.

Check out the new issue of EVO magazine. They put it up against a Porsche Cayman S and said there's no comparison. The Cayman feels like a truck after driving the Evora.

Funny how that worked out, when she called me I was just getting changed and could not understand what all her excitment was about. She did not mention Doc was at the car during the phone call.
Doc intercepted me as I was walking out the door to the car and that's when the fun started.

I now have Clive chapman, Doc Bundy, Dave Simkin, and Bob Dance signatures on the dash. I had asked Nick Adams to sign it before it left the factory but it got out before he got to it. Oh yeah, I also have a smiley face and an "enjoy the ride" on the back of the firewall in the engine bay from one of the factory chaps.

Like I said, it was a heck of a weekend.

Al, You were talking with Doc out there Friday afternoon and I kept trying to get him to come in to do the tech session.. It was like pulling teeth to get him to leave the conversation with you and to get in to do the tech session on performance driving.

I introduced the guys and from what I have heard the tech session went well.

thatr was fum.
