Yesterday I decided I would polish the aluminum body that is normally hidden by the exhaust system as it is away being plated. To make the job easier I removed the front wheel. Now the complete left side of the car is raised so I figure it's a good time for a tire rotation.
Polishing over I decide to install the wheels, "what's that tiny shiny thing in the middle of the tread?" It didn't look much bigger than a pin head so out come the needle nose pliers and I give it a pull, no OK a bigger pull. After half inch was exposed I was concerned but inertia took over and out she came to a lovely Pssssssssss!
I dropped it off today and they said it can be repaired but I bet I'll feel it on smooth roads:mad:

It should be OK as long as they patch it from the inside.

You used to be able to feel the plugs that were used to fix tyres way back (not common anymore)

Well spotted, smooth roads these days are the ones that were re-paved this spring. Give them a year and if Mother Nature has not rippled them then the gas company, the water company or the city will have dug them up for "maintenance" and repaired them their own special way. Cos you know anyone can make a level repair, it takes great skill to make a 2" grade change. Then you have to leave just the right amount and correct size of gravel around the affected area to cause a few cracked windshields and chipped front ends:roadblock:
