I do not know the Lotus name for the color. Mazda had the same color called Monteigo Blue. So, perhaps you could utilize the Mazda paint code?

Billy, I'm not an Elise expert but I believe the colour you are describing is called Aquamarine, and is a cameleon or flip- flop colour (it changes from blue to green depending on the light direction.)

Jaguar used the colour first on the XK8.

Do Elises not have a plaque detailing Chassis numbers and paint no. like the Esprit has??

Look for one of these plaques in the front or rear and look for a letter and a number. Then we can cross ref that perhaps. :001_unsure:

Its a nice colour and suits the curvey shape of the Elise well.

Prismatic or Cameleon colours were all the rage over here in North America in the mid 90's, Ford used that style of paint on the Mustang for a while.

The only real drawback I can see to having a car in that type of paint is its cost, it is alot more expensive to buy than normal metalic paint, so If your cor ever ends up in a bodyshop, be prepared for an expensive bill.

B61 is Nautilus Blue Metalic

The Dupont numbers for that colour are W9783 F0576 F7512

Lotus p.n. is A082B63484

No problem Bill.:)

Let us know how you get on with the car and maybe post up some photo's If you like.

We dont get to see many S1 Elises over here in North America (they were never Federally approved for sale here for road use)which is a shame as I like the styling better than the S2.:(

5 times:ohmy:

You are a veteran.

I have only taken my lot there twice (both times in the winter), even then it gets pretty hot.

Summer visits would be brutal heatwise IMO.
