From what I understand it is sadly true and he is leaving Lotus on July 17th. due to the deterioration of his ongoing back problem.:(

Yes. Sadly Dad's ongoing back problem is forcing him to leave Lotus on doctors orders. The operation last year was only partially successful and at 71 he just can't shrug it off like he used to.
He has been in tears making this decision and has sought a second and third opinions over the last 3 months, trying to put off the inevitable.:crying:
On the positive side he genuinely leaves the company having done what he came there to do (stop it going bust and leaving it on a sound footing going into the future) and leaves it with a great new car and another 2 in the pipeline.
At least now we can get on with his autobiography and (dare I say it) tell all book.
He has asked me to thank all the enthusiasts who have made the company what it is today. The best Lotus ambassadores don't work for the company, they own them.
Thanks guys and I hope he can come onsite in the near future and discuss this with you. Right now he just wants some peace and quiet to relax and possibly go back for another operation.

I would like t wish Mike Kimberley all the best. He was kind enough to wish me a prosperous New Year in January. I would like to wish him good health in the future.
