Hi guys,
I'm new to this forum and am not yet lucky enough to own a lotus.
I have two triumphs, one of which I'm hoping will soon be making way for a Lotus Excel...... trouble is, finding one!
I narrowly missed the one on Ebay in Melbourne last week, and have been sulking ever since.
I'm keeping an eye on the usual classifieds, but if anyone is considering selling one please let me know - it will surely find a good home in my garage! :)
I'm in Melbourne, but will look nationally.... and something in need of a little work doesn't scare me too much.
Thanks!
Brad

Hi Brad welcome to the forum  I guess you couold try contact the local Lotus Club there and see if anyone is selling theirs. I was on the CLub run last weekend with two very nice Excels. They are such great looking cars:thumbup:
All the best for your search!
Kylie :)

Hello Brad, welcome and good luck with your hunt, people say to get the later model as the Toyota scourced parts make for an easier life but I`m probably stating what you have already found out, which Triumphs are you running ? Clockwork :)

My daily runner is a 76 Stag and my other is a 81 TR7 V8
The TR7 is on the home straight of it's restoration and should be finished within the coming two months (such is the plan, anyway).
The Stag is effectively my daily drive (a couple of times a week), and is starting to get a little tired. Ideally, once I get hold of an Excel or finish the TR7 the Stag will be laid up for a little TLC...of course, if the only Excel available is itself in need of a little work, then I'm sure the Stag can soldier along a little longer.
Love the Tr7 and have had at least one continuously for over 12 years now, but I just can't squeeze two kids into it.
Here's hoping an Excel comes along soon :)

Welcome to the forum Brad.:)
The Excel was never imported officially to North America so we dont get to see them around at all.:(
Good luck with your search:)

Nice ones Brad,I have friends that run both,I also run a 350i which is like a plastic TR8,the old Rover lump is fairly bombproof, and it`s better than a pair of paddles for getting my heart started,:)

Not having any luck yet - made an offer on a very nice '92 Excel SE but am not able to meet the sellers price :(
The Stag is now on Ebay if anyone is interested. (Yellow one in Melbourne ending this Sunday) Fair bit of interest so far, so looks like I'll be walking for a while unless I get the TR finished soon
