Brian mentioned this promo video for the Esprit V8 that was shown in the USA.

I had never seen it before, the shots of the car and the other stuff seem to be pretty captivating.:)

Here's a similar V8 vid shot at the same location with a terrible drum and base track behind:

Really never saw this? I loved this ad. it is somewhat surreal and the music suits it well.

This is one of my favourite commercials with an Esprit in it.

The Derek Bell Goodyear Eagle F1 commercial.

"Phew , survived another one"

Brian mentioned the Goodyear Commercial with Enzo Ferrari in it a while ago.

The BMW short films with Clive Owen as the driver were also great car commercials.

Star by Guy Richie was my fave.

I bought the BMW dvd when it was available. Its still my favorite dvd in my collection. Not for the cars but the DRIVING!!!:steeringwheel:

I think I have both seasons in high quality on my PC somewhere....

the Lotus V 8 commercial should have the song " just the way you look tonight " by Frank Sinatra playing in the background..

the car going through the mountains on his way to the girls house... with " Just the way you look tonight " in the background..

man, that would be cool.

I could be wrong but I think the driving scenes were shot on the Stelvio Pass in Italy.

Mike Kimberley and Tony Rudd nearly went over the edge of that road in an Europa Twin Cam prototype whilst doing brake testing.

the more I think about it the more I remember the driver of the Esprit driving home to the beautiful girl in the video.

at the end it shows him walking up stairs and into a room.

during the drive she kept looking out her window looking for him.

thats what i remember of this commercial. either that or its what i always wanted to wish I was doing.

Maybe that's why we like sports cars so much as they enable us to get to where we are going to get laid that much faster?:lol:

I'm trying to find out whether Lotus still has originals of the Dealer/Motorshow promo films that could be made into a DVD and sold to people like us.

Stay Tuned.:)

Brian Angus kindly emailed me this morning (thanks Brian)to inform us that the Lotus PR department still have all of the promotional videos and are very interested in doing something with them (i.e. producing a retail DVD) , so fingers crossed we should be seeing something soon (pun intended):)

Maybe it will be available for Christmas?

Good find.

Now If we can only find a version of it that isn't all pixalated .

Derek Bell is now 68 years old BTW, he is one of those guys who seems to look perenially young.

I should have done a deal with satan too.

Yes, some of it is like an old Calvin Kline Obsession commercial, but the car bits are all good.:)

Was it??? What car build number was that I wonder, guess with a bit of digging on the number plate I could find out. But I do love the fact you can really feel that action and have to keep replaying it for more :mf_dribble:
