No it`s me with my typing it should have been ` 97, if you look at the glass it says Triplex Toughened on it,assuming the decade the car was built in (90`s)the year is worked out by the word toughened, nine letters ,nine years, yours has a small dot at the N, the months are done in a similar fashion with the word triplex.:)

I was refering to the photo... If that is you on the right, the gent on the left looks strikingly like Donald Sutherland!! I too stick to the cars, suck at golf!

err that is Donald Sutherland (and Ellot Gould) from the original MASH movie.

Sutherland was Hawkeye Pierce and Gould was Trapper John.

Sadly more like eyes like a myopic chinaman and a mind full of s-crap

In the UK when looking at a car with a view to buying it to see if the car has been in a bump you would check the glass to make sure that they all match, the really serious man would also check the tyres which also have date codes on them. http://www.mgb-stuff.org.uk/misctext.htm for glass codes go to near bottom of the page :)
