Naa... I have to disagree. I like the Esprit bast still. And I'll go one further and say that the 88 is my favorite (why I search for one and bought one). I liked the reverse saddle shape below the door and the absence of the air ducting in the front.
Nope, the Esprit is still the best looking to me. I do like this Evora though... the only thing I was not to keen on seeing it in person is that arch, cut line, shape along the sides below the doors.

If you look closely you can see its an Elise.:)
IMO the S1 Esprit is the nicest looking Lotus roadcar ever , with the original Elite a close 2nd.
I hope the Evora does well for Lotus but I am not fond of the looks myself, its too busy, bulbous and chunky for me, but it is better looking than a Porsche Cayman:lol:

Hi RoadDad I saw the picture of the orange one and was pretty surprised.:)
When Lotus originally announced the Evora was for sale I was under the impression that the first batch (100?) of UK customer cars were all going to be silver in colour and fully optioned.
I guess I either got that wrong, or the plan got changed.
Yes I was wrong.
The first 450 UK cars are "Launch Editions" and come standard in Ardent red or British racing green, but other colours are available for more money

Orange doesnt look good on the Evora.

I was thinking that too Brian.
Orange only looks good on the more long ,sharp edged angular sportscar designs like the Esprit, Gallardo, Murcielago IMO.
The orange colour seems to emphasise the roundness and dumpyness of the Evoras design.

Yes that was there as well and spoke to the chap driving it who said it was just like driving an ordinary mini except you had limited all round vision  as for mine I never seem to take any pictures of it so this one is from Donington where I am off to in the morning to watch Historic`s as they are now called. http://i514.photobucket.com/albums/t347/clockwork012/DSC00154.jpg only through my eyes it is more orangey and the shapefulness is terrific :tongue_smilie:

Lotus Press Release
09/02/09
Matthew Melling of Twickenham, UK received the keys of a Storm Titanium Lotus Evora from Luke Bennett, Director of Lotus Cars Limited at the Lotus Headquarters where the new mid-engined 2+2 sportscar is hand built.
Many Lotus dealers around the world have already received their demonstrators and Lotus has, so far, received orders for the next 5 months of production. Demand for Lotus’ award winning Evora has meant that 150 extra new manufacturing staff have been recruited to support assembly operations in Norfolk, UK, a very positive sign at a time when the global motor industry faces huge challenges. Full production is expected to reach the maximum rate by the end of November 2009.
Luke Bennett, Director of Lotus Cars Limited said, “It is quite an emotional time to deliver the first Lotus Evora to Mr. Melling. The whole team has worked incredibly hard to design, engineer and produce such a stunning and high performing sportscar and it is a great feeling to hand over the keys to the first customer today. The Evora has won many awards around the world already so we are not surprised that there is high demand for the car and I am sure that each customer who receives their car will be delighted with their purchase.”
Matthew Melling, a customer of Stratton Motor Company, in Norfolk said, “I was determined to be the first in the world to get my hands on an Evora so with Stratton Motor Company’s help, I laid down my deposit within seconds of the order books being opened last year. I have read all the press reviews of the Evora and am so excited about getting behind the wheel – what a great start to September!”

Crikey! How many oysters does it take to provide enough leather to trim an Evora?

I like it. I'd like a aspin white Evora with the oyster (basically white) interior... or the chestnut. I like that one a lot. BRG with either of those interiors would suit me as well...
I am taking donations.
