Reciently found out Lamborghini had named a version of the Gallardo after veteran test driver Valantino Balboni.
It struck me it would be a great idea to name a uprated version of the Evora after veteran Lotus Engineer /test driver Roger Becker.
Lotus Evora Roger Becker Edition, it even sounds right:yes:
Great way to honour a decient, long serving, ledgendary employee of the company.

Then he`ll want a gruel increase and extra biscuits,no,he can have an Elise shaped pot money box and a genuine plastic purse with a Lotus emblem on it just like I licensed when I was at Ferarri. But on the other hand it would be nice.:)

there was a really cool documentary about this fellow and his years at Lambo. people fly their cars over to this guy just so he can test the car and autograph it.
they are nutty about this guy..

He actually hold a license to speed ("travel at any speed necessary") on public roads in Italy as the Lamborghini company has not track!
I gotta get me a license like that!

I asked Mike Kimberley a while ago If he had ever been driven by Balboni whilst he was running Lamborghini and he replied once in an LM002 and it was quite the ride!
Not Balboni, the Stig, but gives an idea what the ride was like.
