Proton (Lotuses parent company), were in extended negotiations with VW about a possible take over by VW, but apparently the talks have broken down.
The good news is Porsche wont be deep sixing Lotus, but the bad is Protons shares took a sharp drop as a result.
They are apparently still talking to GM concerning a partnership though.
