Heres an old news film by Pathe about the then new Lotus operation at Hethel.
Lots of Elans, +2's and the Europa.
Seems to had to have sideburns at least 3 inches long to work there back then.

I used to be nuts about the Tom Karen designed Bug when I was a kid.
My dad and I went to look at one when I was 11 , he was thinking of buying it for his then second wife.
He passed on it as he thought it was too noisy, that day we also looked at an orange Morgan +8 (too fast).
He ended buying her a Ford Anglia (typical):crying:

It was a nice enough thing to drive,it would slide, unlike the austin seven engined mk vi and the later supervan mk 111 ,I must have been addicted because I also had a Kitten and a Fox later on,although none of them were "only" cars, although the others were usually awaiting parts
