I have just been looking to see if any details have surfaced on the Lotus Stand at the Detroit Auto Show, but it appears Lotus dont have an official stand there (that I could find out about) .

Lotus Dealer Auto Europe apparently have some sort of Lotus display that features a nice restored red S2 Elan though.

Bloody amazing to me that with the fanfare of a new regime at Lotus this is all they could be bothered to do.

Dissapointed.

It's Detroit. Detroit is a cesspool, dead, hulk of city that looks a good bit more like a 3rd world war zone than anything else:(. I can't see putting anything of value or anything requiring significant security or logistics together for a place like that... waste of time. Locals certainly are not the target sales demographic.

Now, the Miami auto show should have a good display IMO.

Tell us about how you really feel about Detroit boys:lol:

I have spent a fair bit of time in and around Motor City and whilst some of it resembles Beruit or a third world country ,I thought it wasnt that bad of a place.

Driving up and down Woodward Avenue and seeing alot of the iconic sites like the big Uniroyal tire was pretty cool I thought.

I saw a you tube about Detroit a few weeks ago and its a sht hole. the average cost for a home in the motor city is $5,500 .. thats $5,500..

its a cesspool of needles and drugs..

they have really F'd up that city that was soo cool back in the day..

yes, you can thank the UAW for most of it.

I had to pull off I-94 for some gas and pulled on to a Sunoco station that looked like it had been abandonned 10 years before (with busted old cars lying all over the joint).

Whilst I was pumping my gas a black dude in an old rusted out Caddy pulled up and strutted across the forcourt dressed in a bright lime green suit (with matching wide brimmed hat).

It was almost as funny as the time I saw an old white guy get out of a bright yellow Vette wearing a matching yellow track suit, ball cap and yellow framed sunglasses.

Aha, I found a pic of the front of the Lotus Auto Europe stand at the Detroit show, and I take it back it looks nice.

Took some finding though (and there are no attractive women on the stand)!

This might be the link to what Brian was referring too... if not, it details the great success of liberal policies and the UAW. So sad. I would have loved to see the place back when that houses in the clip were new and the US auto industry was full tilt from Detroit in Indiana!
