Lotus Press Release
January 27, 2010

Lotus continues to expand and strengthen its Senior Management team with a further appointment to announce Andreas Prillmann as Chief Commercial Officer responsible for Sales, Marketing and After-sales functions.

Andreas comes to Lotus from Ferrari where he held the position of Director of Business Development, a role that involved the reorganisation of the worldwide business model and dealer development.

Prior to Ferrari, Andreas enjoyed roles at Aston Martin, Porsche and General Motors. Specialising in the management of sales, after-sales, the dealer network, marketing and PR activities for both brands and products, he brings to Lotus a wealth of skill and experience.

Dany Bahar remarked on Andreas’ appointment, “Lotus extends a very warm welcome to Andreas, we are very fortunate to benefit from his tremendous industry experience. Andreas’ instinctive understanding of where we look to take the Lotus brand is very much aligned with my vision, and having worked with him in the past, I know the teams under his leadership can look forward with optimism and confidence.“

Commenting on this new role at Lotus, Andreas said, “It took me just ten minutes to accept the offer from Dany Bahar for the role of Chief Commercial Officer at Lotus. It was an easy decision to make as I see Lotus as a brand with so much potential and I am delighted to join this iconic company at such an exciting time and look forward to instigating the new strategic plans and initiatives that will take the Lotus brand to the next level.

Hmmmmnnnn, some more ex-Ferrari people. That isn't a bad thing but I hope we don't lose some Lotus-ness along the way.

I think before this is over might as well just put a prancing horse on the hood. I will be most surprised if these people will continue the "drivers" cars of Lotus. Ferrari is not even available with a manual gear box now!

Thankfully there are the classics. I do hope these guys can pull off some race wins in multiple venues and they will prob appeal much more to the masses... but that is not Lotus is it?

No joke....I just recently heard that the 458 was not available in a manual. That is just despicable. Lets just go a head and muffle it down to a quiet purr for the V8 while we are at it.

Yep. No manual, traction control full on, ABS is not an option (as in it cannot be deleted and for my money and experience I do not like ABS), and from what I understand from reading etc... it is actually too quiet. so you might have hit it on the head full on...?
