I spent my lunch break today having a look at this one. I am not in the market, but they are in no way common in Mobile, Alabama... so I stopped and took a look.
The car is in good shape and drives nice. I did not fine tooth comb it, but if anyone is interested in it, I would be happy to give it a good going over for you as it is local to me and no trouble.

There are quite a few Elises for sale ATM, I guess its becoming something of a buyers market.
I know a few of the old Esprit crowd have traded to an Elise, I guess the appeal of a newer model Lotus with a more modern design and seemingly reliable powertrain must be part of the reason.
Whilst I like the Elise from a fun to drive perspective, they are just too small for my liking and I have never liked the styling of the S2 version which I find just too OTT (not in a good way).
Maybe If I was 30 years younger and single?

I like the Elise for what it is... but I do not think I would ever trade from an Esprit. The S2 does not bother me style wise, pehaps due to the fast we in the USA had to wait a decade to see one at all? I am not in love with it, but I am not bothered by it. I can appreciate the fact that it does not look like every other car on the road (Lexus, Nissan, BMW, Buick, Infinty, etc...) without going Facel Vega. It still looks 'go-carty' and sporty without looking like a Porsche or Ferrari.
Getting in and out of it gracefully requires some talent though...
