Yes those carbon fibre B pillar covers look nice but aren't as light as the original ABS plastic ones.

Back in the 60's/70's ABS plastic moulded dashboard and other trim pieces were all the rage and I remember alot of single seater racing cars of the period used ABS pieces too.

Lotus bought their own vacuum ABS former in the early 70's and immediately put it to use making parts for the road cars.

I remember a press release from back then from Lotus saying how the ABS Former would revolutionise the parts making process, they were quite proud of it.:)
