How many of us are close to Barber?

I was thinking about trying to put together a weekend get together and got to wondering how many of us are close enough to Barber Motor Sports park to make it a weekend thing? (sometime near to spring)

I though it might be nice to meet up in B'ham on a Friday Night/Saturday morning. Drive out to Barber and tour through the museum and the facility a bit. Then dinner someplace Saturday evening... head home Sunday. Toss in drive someplace as there are a few good drive roads in the area...

To actually drive on that track is rather pricey, but I though a simple meet up would be nice.

Hmmm... thats 471 miles away..... about the same distance to Atlanta.....

Would LOVE to visit Barber.... thats another one on my never ending list..
with enough advance notice and acceptable weather(no snow up here) I might be able to join you all. Keep me posted!

I'm up for it as I live in northern North Atlanta. Preferrably we do it in early spring, but I'm up for ideas.

Yes, I am toying with early spring as well. To late in the spring and I (we) start running into events and I would prefer to have gotten out of the poor weather that can creep up for those in North Alabama and Georgia.

Also, I want to have time for anyone interested to schedule. April 5th is already out due to the best car show in the area being scheduled on that day... Bellingrath Gardens.

If there is at least a few of us, I'll start trying to plan and such...

Martin. Mick will probably set up a caravan to Barber this year. he did last year and the year before that and they were both great fun.

my car actually ran better than ever this past July run to Barber. it was a blast.
