Otis Chandler died not too long ago and his kids are selling off his car collection... all of them .. everything from his Model J Dusenburgs to the Porsche 935's.

apparently thats why Parnelli is selling his cars off now so he can spend the money now and not let his kids sell off the cars and take the money.

sure is a shame. I was hoping that PJ JOnes and his brother would keep that stuff in good hands.

Poor Otis died and the cars are being sold. he would not be happy.

Parnelli's collection includes all of his trophies.

Any idea what cars they will be selling and when? It would be cool to get a 935 from his collection.

Well, I asume that if someone owns a collection like this, they have a fair bit of money and assets in the pocket...

The "smart" thing to do would be to establish a museum with by laws and a governing body to keep the cars in good hands, the kids or relatives out of the death bed pockets, and have one heel of a tax shelter that you can borrow against in some circumstances... and then there is the part that puts your name out there forever...

The Barber museum exist due to the lack of people to leave the collection with... I have heard Leno is also setting his cars up for something like this?
