Oil for V8 TT

Just checking before I fill'er up... Still the best and recommended oil
Mobil 1 synthetic for the V8 TT??

Lotus recommend Mobil 1 5W/30 so its the best from the factories point of view(fully tested by Lotus Engineering).

There are other synthetic oils availible in that grade , I have been using a very reasonably priced 5W/30 in my Supercharged Range Rover for the past 2 years that goes under the name of Super Tech and is sold via Wal-Mart (as is Mobil 1).

It is apparently made by Pennzoil/Quaker State (who are owned by Shell) and meets all government API requirements for a turbo engine .

I still use Mobil 1 in my race car and Turbo Esprit though as the Super Tech doesn't come in the viscosity that those cars require.

Lotus have recommended different makes of oil for their cars over the years (Castrol, Texaco,Valvoline and Mobil) usually from which ever company was sponsoring their racing programmes.

I used to have to source Agip oil for the Ferraris I work on, but things have gotten a bit easier (and cheaper) since Shell has sponsored the F1 team!
