Lotus Owners Oftha North (LOON) is based in Minneapolis/ St. Paul and serves Lotus owners/fans in Minnesota, western Wisconsin and northern Iowa. We have a few members scattered around the US and Canada, but we're primarily a local club. Whether you're a polisher, a wrencher or a driver, you'll find folk in the LOON who share your interests. Ownership is not required, just a strong interest in Colin Chapman, his cars and his team.

Hey Tim, are you guys starting to thaw out yet or are you still seeing some snow?

When you guys get some events started please post them on here in case there is someone looking thats in your area.

The week before last it was looking like Spring was just around the corner. Most of the snow had melted away, followed by a week of rain that had just about flushed away all the salt. Then last week we got another big load of snow, which meant another big load of salt. Nutz! Back to square-one on the salt.

The good news... the weather has been great since then and the snow has been melting very fast. Most of it's gone now and I'm just looking at remnants of the larger drifts at my place. Karknack the Magnificent predicts that it will be gone by this weekend.

The black asphalt still looks pretty gray, though... salty. I'm seeing more and more fun cars on the road, lots of Elise guys out, Porsches, Vettes... but most of the car guys are waiting for a good, cleansing rain. We're not really out of the woods until the end of April, but I'll be seriously P-O'd if we get more snow.

The autocross season will kick off in a couple of weeks, and all the car clubs will be fighting for weekends... all that pent-up need to drive.

HEY! -- Is there anyone else from Minnesota/Wisconsin here? Speak up. The fellow from Duluth with the Esprit project sorta faded.
