Adelaide is a small city in Australia with only 1 million people - mainly old people.

As a result we get over 850 cars each year to the 'All British Day'. Not much modern stuff on display, just really old English cars and their old owners. I think my car was one of the most modern.

A couple of snaps from yesterday.

Only a handful of Lotus cars present.

Nice pics Simon. Spotted a red Stevens Turbo in the row a few cars away, with an S4 bumper (the old black door handles give it away).

Great pics, Simon me old cobber.:tongue_smilie:

Spotted what looks like a 1948 Vauxhall Wyvern/Velox like me dad had when I was a bab, were they sold as some sort of Holden down there?

Tragically I cant see ANY Giugiaro Esprits there, which is a damn shame.

What a great show and an even nicer place to park! We could never get a turn out like that here. For whatever reason many people in this area feel that cars like this are to be kept in the garage and never never driven. I have actually had people get stiff with me because they do not approve of me driving my Esprit... Sorry - not a garage show piece!

Great show! I love those old 3000 AH cars! I'll shall have one someday...

Sorry Wayne.

To my 'excitement', I did see this car in the peasant's carpark.

Now that means that there's three red Esprit's in Adelaide. In fact I believe there's only three Esprits in total in Adelaide.

She's a proper one Mark. Here's a pic from the other direction.

Also found my father's first car that he bought when he was 18. He's had 4 Healeys since.

Re: the Vauxhall's. yes they were originally called vauxhalls back then. Looking at the field that day there was:

1950 Velox Sedan, 57 velox Sedan x 2, 57 Velox Utility.

And Martin, temp was 28 deg C and blue sky all day.

Here's a couple more pics for your viewing pleasure.

Puzzled, Confused and saddened that the best looking car at the event was parked outside with the daily driven prolemobiles.

Oh Well.:crying:

I was wrong about the S4 bumper. Must look more carefully next time.

Do you find the intense sun fades the red more over there?

If it was April 1st , I would have written a long story on cars and grass fading, but no generally not. I think more that it's the extreme temps that we get here during Summer that would kill the paint. usually a week or so of continuous 36+ deg C (100) is the norm over during summer.

I would say all Esprits are kept under cover here in Oz due to their exclusivity.

White cars are great , you can leave them in the sun as long as you like and the colour never fades!:001_smile:

They can be hard to find in 6' of snow though.:crying:
