Hello all.
I ran across this forum in doing some research on a Seven.
I'm currently driving a 2007 Federal Elise that my wife forced me to purchase .
Hope you don't mind me dropping in from time to time.

Hi there welcome to the site and post some pics of the new toy :icon18:
I'll post some after I wash the car, get the dead bugs off of it and get all the rubber off the rocker panels. It was one of the 2007 launch cars so it is without bumpers. I've had it for 15 months now and I think it has been washed twice. Storm Titanium is a great color to hide dirt. I decided I wouldn't wash it much when I realized I had washed half of it and couldn't really tell which half I had washed .
Welcome... and i hope this is not tooooo forward, but I think your wife needs to shed some influence on my wife!

Our conversation went something like this:
Wife: "You should buy a Lotus."
Me: "Really?"
Wife: "You'd better buy a Lotus."
Me:
Wife: "Yep."
Me: "Which one?"
Wife: "One or ones?"
Me: "Quit playing with me."
Wife: "I'm not."
Me: "New or Old?"
Wife: "Yes."
Me: "Which?"
Wife: "Do you want me to pick it out?"
Me: "Uhhhh... Yes?"
Wife: "2007 Storm Titanium Elise, Touring pack, Sport pack and a hardtop."
Me:
Wife: "I'd prefer the Elise so we can take off the top, but get whatever you want. Remember you could always get another one later, too.
Car came, I tried to hand her the keys. She says, "I don't want to drive it, just ride in it with you."
After the car was broken in and 1000 mile service was done, I started hitting the second cam a lot. Even after that cam kicked in at WOT with her in the car she said, "Your car could be a little louder for safety reasons. This is a pretty small car and if they can't see you, maybe they should hear you. What louder exhausts do they make? You should get one, just don't scare the kids."
I commented several times about some changes I wanted to make to the car (Lotus driving lights, etc) and kept asking for approval to purchase said items. She said "Why do you keep asking me if it's ok to buy something for the car? Just get what you need and if you don't need it get it anyway."
In the past 15 months, whatever her motivation was (new jewelry, dress, ?) still hasn't surfaced.
Now she's got me searching for a Lotus Seven :mf_dribble:.

Yes, two of them .

She's very protective of her privacy. I'd die if I posted a pic of her. I'll just leave it as "she's a smoking hot Brasilian."

After seeing her pop out 5 kids so far, I'd say no :clapping5365:.
She's just very tolerant of my vehicular addiction. Today she asked me to start researching 7 passenger Phaetons from the 1920-30's so the entire family can ride at the same time (in something other than her minivan). "7 passengers and the top has to be removable" are the only stipulations.
I'm just lucky.

OK, at Martin's request. This is as large of a pic as I was allowed to upload (I'm sure I messed that up somehow). Sorry it's very small.

Wow, I realized I missed this thread until now!
Your wife sounds like a gold nugget, I would keep her no matter what!
The Elise looks great, now on to the next one :)
Seriously, the Elite would certainly be the best way to start a Lotus collection if you were to collect Lotus road cars by chronological order.
