This July 11th - 13th.
I have never been to this event, but it is on my list of "must do" before I die. I take it some of you have been there before? What kind of Lotus cars one might expect there? All of them? :mf_dribble:

For me it's the highlight of the year. Last year there was the Type 30, Type 72 Gold Leaf, Type 79 and Senna's Lotus Renault 97T. And a few years ago saw Emerson Fittipaldi reunited with his JPS Lotus 72 (and he was smiling like a Cheshire cat).
And the year before last, I was standing next to Dan Gurney and I didn't recognsise him, until someone asked for his autograph!
Here are some of my pics from previous years:

Goodwood is on my list of to do's also:thumbup:
Over here along similar lines we have The Monterey Historics at Laguna Seca and up here in Canada, the Somat des Legends at Mt.Tremblant which attract many historically significant, high dollar cars.
Goodwood still looks to have them beat though.

I usually drive down in convoy with a few mates (old 911 3.2 Carrera and Esprit :)) and when we arrive, we're running around like headless chickins looking at all the amazing cars. Like kids in a candy shop!
Yes, I'll take lots of pics.
Always wondered about Amelia Island Concours, there's some amazing machinary there. Anyone been?

Oddly enough, I've never been to the Amelia Island concours even though it is relatively close. I guess I should shoot for that one next. :)

Here are some videos I took of a 1971 Mclaren M8F and a 1968 Lola T160 driving up the hill. Turn the sound up :).

Thanks Mark, looked like you may have died and gone to car heaven to me!
Nice to see the Manta out and about, I have never seen its interior (until now).
What did you think of the AMX/3?
The Pantera replacement prototype is horrible though.:crying:

Hi Wayne,
It really was a fantastic day! I was luke warm on the AMX/3. Not sure on it's cartoon styling, but still quite good fun. Yes, I agree, the Pantera II was an ugly car, what a stinker. Was surprised to see Chris Evans's Ferrari California there (which as you know recently sold for £12 million dollars at RM auctions). Amazed it was left out with the general public. Steve McQueen's old Lusso was there too. My car of the day was the Lola T160. Just a fantastic looking car for the time and sounded great :).

Mark, I saw a photo of your boss at Goodwood (wearing what looked like an old greaser's Belstaff jacket), did he ride a motorbike to the event?

Yes, he normally does. He does the Judging at the Cartier Style et Luxe Concours. I doubt he'll have marked the Esprits very highly. The black plastic door trim on the S1 was hanging off the door and looked dreadful. The Wheels were also badly corroded and the paint finish was matt. And the bronze Turbo Esprit had a flat tyre, the right light pod had sunk and the left ski rack holder had broken!

Does the same person/company own the Bond Esprits now? I noticed the "oilexco" plates and wondered what they were all about.
In the Bond movies, bond worked for "Universal Exports" If I remember rightly.
Compomotive modular wheels were always leakers, probably the main reason Lotus went to one piece BBS wheels later.

So I take it there was a "007" area with all the old cars?
Did they also have a 2000GT there?
