Vermont scenic drive this Saturday... June 14th.

Organized by Jeff Torrey (Trustee NELLI) Open to any and all Marques.

There will be two meeting spots set up. For Boston North we will be
meeting at the Hooksett, NH Rest Stop Rte 93 North at 9:00am. Looking for a 9:15
departure.

For Western, MA and CT we will be meeting at the Quechee Gorge Visitors
Center in Quechee, VT at 10:30 for a 10:45/11:00am (Bio Break)
departure on the scenic drive. Quechee Gorge is the first exit off of Rte 89 in Vermont. So Western, MA and CT folks can take Rte 91 North to Rte 89 and get off at Exit 1.

We will follow Rte 12 to Rte 107 west to Rte 100 North. There is a nice
lunch Spot on Rte 107. We should be eating around 12 noon.

The Ride along Rte 100 will end at Ben n' Jerry's Ice Cream Factory in
Waterbury, VT. The scenic Drive is approximately 2 hours from Quechee to
Waterbury. Ben and Jerry's offers Factory Tours if your interested, if
you haven't done it it's worth the 3 dollars admission. If you have
done the tour you may decide to do it again to extend your rest time
before we break up and head for home.

It's a great ride, beautiful countryside. On Rte 100 we will be
traveling along a small river with hills and/or green mountains on each
side. Twisting Roads, dairy farms, light traffic and no speed traps.

So is this a Viper meet officially.
Reason I ask is that I am always so impressed with the turn out of Lotus cars for "drives". Lotus usually produces less cars yet they are clearly driven more. I guess that speaks volumes about who buys a Lotus.....

LoL! It actually is an all-makes-and-models. Jeff Torrey is an officer at both the NE Viper Club and NE Lotus Club! He just so happened to post his pictures on this Viper site. He owns a Lotus Esprit Turbo and a Viper RT/10.

Martin- I am registered here and check in every once in a while. I'll stop by more often now.

Yes, well I am the Past President of the New England Viper Club. But they had a Vermont Run on the Calendar for Saturday. So last Saturday they asked me to do the Run. I put it on 3 years back with NSX Rob.

It started out as a Viper Event but a Lotus Event broke out:yes:

I'm glad because I was driving the Lotus either way.

add:

Fred - JPS Elise
Mike- Viper GTS

Looks like 9 Lotus / 4 Vipers / 2 Ferraris
* There are 2 maybe in there but I'm counting maybe ringht now

9 Lotus, 4 Vipers, and 2 Ferraris! You guys know how to go out in style!
Please share pics with us when it is all said and done.
How long of a trip is it?

From my house it's an hour to get to the first meeting spot. Then another hour to get to the meeting spot in Vermont. The scenic drive is two hours of secondary roads...hills, valleys, rivers, mountains, and cows. There is a challenging diversion called the Dragons Tail which we can decide to add on Saturday.

Then the trip home is 3 hours of Interstate. Add an hour for lunch and an hour at Ben n' Jerry's.

It's a full day:yes:

Wow, that should be a great day indeed!
I would have a hard time skipping out on anything called Dragon's tail
....and then washing it all down at Ben and Jerry's, you folks know how to live!

First pictures to surface are here:

Notice the State Troopers? They had us all pulled over for 30 minutes so the could do their own photo shoot. No tickets were written.

My Lotus Ran Great, kept it the the power band as much as possible. Those two Ferrari's were on my rear bumper all day. Man that was fun.
