here are some really cool events that the Lotus club of GA has done in the past that hopefully will come up again . I organized all of these race shop tours. I miss those tours and hopefully we can start doing these things again.

Tour - Lotus Cars USA twice.

tour - Panoz Racing - IRL build up tour including LMP and champ car build and a tour of race shop shop and complete facility.

Tour - Downing America. Jim Downing shop, Mazda Kudzu LMP tour and shop tour of the famous HANS device build .

Tour - Hypersport racing facilities , including Koni build and Lotus build tour.

Tour - Andy Gilberg Racing. - we toured his shop which houses 3 March race cars including a March C Indy car, March F/A, March F 1 cars

Tour - Dick Barbour Racing , ALMS team that ran Lamborghini Diablo's in 2006

Tour - BBS Wheels of North America. Toured facility.

Tour - Kinetic Racing. viewed facility where the build the Porsche's for Speed world challenge.

Tour - Tracy Krohn Racing. Rolex Prototype shop and now Ferrari ALMS shop. Met with team and drivers.

all of these events were a blast. I even invited our friends from the Ferrari and Porsche camps. I want to start these tours again. there are also more shops that need to be considered. All of these shops welcomed us with open arrms.. They are for the racing fan and I am a huge fan of motor racing which made it easy for me to organize these events. The sad thing was that each even had little showing from the Lotus club but the other clubs always came in big numbers. I never did understand why.

we need to resurrect these fun tours.

we need to do something, thats for sure.. please.. !!!!!

I am ready for some race shop tours... Now is the time.. the season is mid way over and we havent seen any freaking race shops.... !!! WTF.

there are a bunch of ALMS teams here in GA that love it when car clubs come to tour. they just need to be organized.

I believe this Saturday is the monthly cruise in so at least that is something to look forward to.

other than that, there isnt ANYTHING TO DO FROM A CLUB PERSPECTIVE AND ITS GETTING OLD...

I want to do some Lotus events on the weekends.. something. Not another drive up to TN but something local where we can see some race cars and then meet the public as they serve us French fries.

SOMTTHING..

Please.... somebody please organize something....

Afraid not. I cannot say I have met anyone in the alabama Lotus club! it all seems to be located in and around B'ham and Huntsville. For anything more than a planned occational trip it is just too far. Mobile has a small group of folks that like to get together locally and drive and do car shows... and even then some of these folks are limited on what they will do... I am the only Lotus sadly.
