which would you rather do. Drive an F 40 at the famous Ring for 20 laps , or drive a 1990 Lola Champ Car ( Buick V 6 turbo ) at Indy for 50 laps. ?

I would do Indy because with 50 laps you can really enjoy yourself...

I just want to lay on the gas there and deal with each corner as they come flying by.. one turn you can have a head wind, other turns you could have a push.

the Ring on the other hand too would be a ball in a F 40.. each turn again is different and would be a ball.

F40 on Ring for me. But... I stipulate that I am choosing the old Nurburgring and not the new track. 14 miles of butt haulin'!

Another one for the Ring, although the prospect of losing enough weight to fit in a champ car is very tempting.Clockwork :weight_lift:

the ring is too ricksy.. soo many corners.. such fast straights.

I would rather have 4 identical corners. well, somewhat identical but always at the same place.

yeah, Indy entry speeds in corners is 238 but each lap you know where the corners are.

the Ring scares me to death. corners as tight as paperclips are still fast... off camber corners scare the heck out of me. full tilt straights that go to a dead slow left hander and then a super fast S turn.. SCARY.

Indy .. yes, in a heart beat. yes at 238.. each lap the same.

Ring - no way at full tilt, but yes at half throttle.

F40, because it would take all 50 laps in the indy car for me to even get the tires, brakes, etc warmed up, let alone be able to drive the car anywhere near its limits, not to mention that driving around in circles does not interest me

I have a friend who was given the opportunity to either get a ride in a 2 seat F1 driven by a professional F1 driver or drive an F1 car. He chose to drive, and said he regretted it because he just fumbled around in the car and never even got much speed up, where those who chose the ride got out of the car trembling

I would get myself killed in the Indy car ,but only badly injured in the F40:)

if ever given the opportunity to drive an F 1 or ride as passenger I would drive. I wouldnt care if I was able to get to the limits but sure would enjoy trying..

riding back seat would not be fun.

In the photo... note the 'left overs" from the previous days race on the right side of the road. The Old Ring claimed cars with vengance.

I'd like to drive Indy... super speedwway and the road course. However, I am a true road course fan :steeringwheel: and so the ring wins given the choice of only one.

F40 is my favorite car ever and Nordschliefe is my favorite track.
So would that be my top pick?
Well, does a one legged duck swim in circles?
