...with some extra money or a damn-it all attitude...
Last night I bumped into a guy that I've not seen in a while. I do not know him well, only in passing from car cruise in club cross overs. He has a good rep with the muscle car guys as "doing it right". Anyway, he has a gem of a car collection and is selling off one of his Trans Am cars to make room for another toy...
The car?
A 1977 Trans Am
Total option package from 77' (power window lifts, AC, 8 track... etc)
Black with Gold trim and it is "super trim" package(gold in the headlamp recess etc... in near perfect shape).
This is a total numbers matching car with build sheet.
And... it has only 54,000 original miles. It was/is a Sunday show car and garaged its entire life.
It has a 70's GA flag in the front plate spot, a 77' GA tag to be had for the rear (for car shows), and a 12 pack of Coors beer!
He said the price is "fair and negotiable" to anyone that is interested enough to call.
...contact Don Lundy
251 - 610 - 5164.
Saddly, I have no extra money after private school tuition for me daughter.

This is a massive collectors car of the future, just as the Bullit / Dukes of Hazzard 68 Dodge Charger is now. Always loved the 77 - 78 Trans Am :).

Dare I say that is an investment car.
And given the 12 pack of coors, you just have to go for it! :D (Unless that 12-pack is from 1977)
Did you know in GA you can drive a classic car with the old GA tag if you use a real 1977 tag from the state Georgia. I think that's pretty cool.

I did not know that? That is pretty cool! You can only put "vintage" tags on for car shows etc... in Alabama. You still have to get a state Approved "Vintage" tag or a current issue tag for your car or truck. If I had the $$$ and that big steel building for my car collection (that I shall one possesssss!!!! Hahahaha:fire::evil::fire::laugh:)... I'd def want this car.

My wife told me if I bought a Trans-Am she'd divorce me. I should buy it!
Sounds nice but, got any pics?

No. I did not have a camera. I am not sure if Don is advertising on line anyplace yet as he has only just decided he wants something new in the collection of Cameros', old vettes, a couple other Trans ams, and old Challengers...

I must admit I was off looking at another T/A to buy last week.
It was a 1981 Turbo Trans Am NASCAR Pace Car edition, and If the guy adjusts his asking price to a more reasonable amount It will be joining the SD 455!
This isnt the actual car but it looks just like it.

As for the black SE (or bandit as they are called) I dont think I could bring myself to own one to be honest, I had a Brown 78 T/A 6.6 once though (everyone used to ask If I had repainted it from black).

No Black SE T/A's for me for a couple of reasons.
1. the factory bodywork is just too wavy for a nice looking black paint job IMO(without spending insane money getting it straight), the pinch welds across the top of the doors look terrible on a black T/A:(:(
2. I have a moustache and got sick of people calling me Burt when I was driving around in my Brown 78 T/A in England.:(

Now that's funny. But I can see it getting old. I used to get called Magnum PI in the 308... now I just get "Who made that"?... hahaha
As for the wavy-ness. It is all part of the car to me. The Ferraris, older ones like the 308 and back, are wavy along the door lines. You can see it when you put your head against it and look at it in the light. If it is not there, the concourse guys will doc you serious points in places like Daytona and Pebble Beach. It means the car is to straight and not original. Believe it or not, I have seen judges take off points for Esprits with good paint jobs. Drips, uneven spray, and poor clear coat are all part of an "original car". In fact, when I get mine re-srayed next year, the guy doing it is going to duplicate the imperfections. He says Lotus was "the bringers of crappy paint jobs". He is a great talent and has restored many a concourse winning Jag and even a Buggatti...
