I was talking to a younger dude the other day about the new Lotus "Eagle", and was told by him that he didnt think it was a proper Lotus because it has 4 seats.
He had only grown up knowing the Elise, and had no idea that Lotus used to make 4 seaters back in the day.
So I thought I would see if you lot know all of them.
I will kick off with the Elan +2.

As you included one that never got beyond paper, what the Etna that made it as a prototype?

If we're talking prototypes, then there's the Lotus Metier II (M20) from 1965, displayed at the years Lotus Festival.

I always loved the Carlton. I believe Mark Pfeffer told me once that he spoke with one of the engineers who said it would absoluetly FLY.
it had a serious top speed but that speed would only last for a few seconds before it went boom.

Oops, I had always thought just by its saloon-esque styling it would have been a 4 seater, hadn't realised it was a 2 seater.
