Festival of Speed

Just come back from the Festival of Speed. Some nice cars and very hot weather.

A few pics from today:

You are a lucky man Mark.

So many great Alfa tipo 33 based showcars in one place at one time.

Carabo
Stradale
Iguana
Pininfarina Tipo 33

And the Etna of course.

I weeded the garden today...........................

I wasn't expecting to see the Iguana, it was absolutely beautiful, Giugiaro is a genius. I saw the 1970 Mercedes C111 taking of at the start line, but missed seeing it up close and no pics .

There were way to many cars to taking pictures of. The other hightlights for me were the late 60s Prototype racers like the Ford F3L, Ferrari 312PB and Alfa's, the Lotus F1 cars and Eric Clapton's, Jeff Beck's and ZZ Top's hot rods.

Nice day .

The McLaren looked underwhelming. The design looked like a Supercar by numbers. It would have looked great 10 years ago. My mate agreed.

Here's a Shadow Mk 1. Took this one for Wayne.

Seeing that Shadow Mk1 at Goodwood is a great tribute to the late Peter Bryant.
Bet it sounded great going up the hill.
I am dissapointed to hear that my friend wont be running his Lola T260 at the Vintage Festival at Mosport this year.

I didn't see the Shadow go up the hill, would have been great to see it, for that matter I didn't see any cars going up the hill. I had the family in tow and my Son wanted to get in to every car in the paddock.

Nothing wrong with the little chap wanting to sit in the cars Mark.

I still want to sit in them all, when I was at the Jag Museum in Browns Lane I managed to talk my way into a nice sit down in the XJ220 Prototype.

very nice it was too.

When I was in the Audi / Peugot paddock last year there was this little guy staring at this Audi and behaving himslef very well. One of the mechanics reached over, picked him up and strapped him in to this Audi LMP car. The look on his face tells it all. Think he'll remember this?
